I had a tattoo as an 18 year old and hated it since the day I got it - so 3 years later I got it covered up with this and I love it - it was definitely worth the pain!

This is my adult bluetit tattoo I got yesterday (16/5/13) which represents my mum.
my mum got one with me, except she got a juvenile one - which represents me!:D
we got this because we are super close and felt we needed something to show it off to the world (because we’re show offs like that). I’m very proud of the tattoo, but not as proud as I am of my mummy for sitting there for an hour and a half while this was done! :D
This is my friend finally getting my custom design for him tattooed. We are not that close, so I don’t particularly know if there is a meaning behind it; also do not specifically know where he got it done, sorry. But it was in Qld, Australia.
P.s. I did this design for him when I was 14 :)
This tattoo was done by Niki Woltja at Icon Tattoo in Portland, OR.
She did negative space lace work off of a piece of lace that my great-grandmother knit. She chose very very light grey and I’ll probably get some color/more shading done eventually.

“Je suis le vent” or “I am the wind”
Done by Jeffery Oelklaus at Pens and Needles Tattoo in Colorado Springs, CO.
Although this is just part 1 of 3, I wanted to share it anyways. This tattoo, once finished, will be my last large and detailed piece. The rest of it will combine the script and birds in flight with a portrait of my mother at 21 (my current age), wearing a Native American headdress.
The piece is meant to symbolize the burning desire and undying need to release my free spirit and see the world for all it’s worth. The text, “I am the wind”, is simply a metaphor for wanderlust as wind sweeps every inch of the earth. The birds in flight represent putting fear aside and just “flying” because at any given point, you can.
When the portrait of my mother is added, it will tie it all together. My mother at my age was seeing a different country every 6 months which is what I wish to do. She has blessed me with the eye to appreciate the earth and has ensued in me the belief that adventure is what makes life worth living and that I should cherish that thought while I’m young and still able to. I wanted her in a headdress to represent courage.
In Native American tribes, only the most brave and fearless warriors were depicted with the headdress and each feather was earned by accomplishing a great feat. Only once a warrior had collected enough feathers, would he have a headdress made to wear.
My mother is an idol to me and in my opinion, she has earned every feather there is. She has always been brave and never afraid to take on a challenge or hardship. She has been a leader, a provider, and has loved her family in every way she could. I want to be like her when I age. Followed the wind when I could and tackled every “battle” with success and pride.

This is my first tattoo. I knew I wanted something geometric, something intricate, and something that I hopefully wouldn’t regret by my mid-twenties. As for the meaning behind it….I just really like eyes; how they symbolize a gateway to the soul of the person or animal they belong to. I like to observe people and to hear their stories.
Done by Ollie at Affinity Tattoo and Piercing in Austin, TX. I was very impressed by their friendliness and eagerness in taking on a challenge, and by how seriously they take their jobs!

Evermore: always; continually; forever.
A semicolon is used when a sentence could have been ended, but it wasn’t.
This is one of the most meaningful tattoos I think that I could/will ever get.
I took my best friend to go and get this today. Although her parents will murder me when they find out, it was something that needed to be done.
We were starting to drift apart, we didn’t take as much and I feel as though it was because I will be leaving for school this summer and we wont be seeing one another for awhile, so drifting would help it hurt less.
There is going to be so much changing with in the next few months, I just wanted you to know that I will always be there for you. You’re one of the most important people in my life, and I will do anything for you. This isn’t the ending of our adventures together. You’re always going to be the best thing in my life, no matter how far away we get. ♥
